My stepfather is an intelligent man with a good sense of humor. However, whenever he gets caught making a mistake he declares, “that’s my first mistake of the week.” I always makes me smile when he surprises me with his statement, mainly because I know that he, like all of us, often makes mistakes.
You and I do know someone who is faultless and makes zero mistakes, He is God. Our God is perfect in all His ways. He did not make a mistake last week, last year, or all eternity. Can you imagine His perfection? God never forgets His promise and never fails to fulfill His Word. All His decisions and attitudes are permeated by pure holiness. He is as solid as a rock – a secure foundation we can trust and build on.
“The Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He.” Deuteronomy 32:4
