I have a lot to say about what’s going on in our country concerning all the divisions. People at odds with the president because he doesn’t always choose to make the most political statement, kneeling at the sound of the national anthem, and etc. It is heart breaking to see such disunity and even participating on some level. This isn’t a new event. Division began when Lucifer rebelled against God and has been an issue ever since.

The question is, “what do we do” or “how should we respond?” As Christ followers we must lock arms in solidarity and pray for this country like never before! We talk about praying, we acknowledge that we will pray, we even throw up some Amen’s occasionally to meet our need to talk with God. However, I believe there is no consistency in our prayers.

It’s time FBC Henderson gets serious about prayer! First I want to invite anyone willing to join me at 8:15 every Sunday in the CLC for prayer; I have knelt every Sunday for 16 years and prayed before church began. Second, we will begin each Sunday morning service with a time of church wide prayer beginning October 1st. And third, the first half of our Wednesday night services will be breaking off and praying.

Friends, I am a firm believer in prayer as I know many of you are. We are going to join together and unit against the deceptions of the evil one. Remember, according to Ephesians 6:12, “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”   So, let FBC get serious and cry out to King Jesus on behalf of one another, our country, and our world!
